Coop and Sam visited with Mackenzie and Josh Teske and Madison Tran. Date: Monday, November 17, 2008
Coop got to celebrate his birthday a few times over in October, thanks to family and friends.
Date: Monday, October 13, 2008
It's been a very busy six weeks, and as promised, here are photos of some of the highlights. When the paint dries, the pool is closed up for the winter, we have more stuff moved in, and all the other joys of moving, there will be more to see. Stay tuned!
Date: Monday, August 25, 2008
Our last National Night Out in Richfield came and went, and Cooper got to explore his first fire truck with the other kids on the block. Meanwhile, Samara learned that her tummy is an awesome place to hang out -- she now rolls on it almost instantly when you lay her down, and she rolled from her tummy to her back for the first time this weekend. Date: Monday, August 4, 2008
So, it's been 14 weeks of perpetual motion, but we're hoping an end is in sight as we get our house on the market and buy a new place in Plymouth (Minnesota, folks -- not Wisconsin!). In the meantime, we are starting to show a little wear and tear. All except for our darling daughter and enterprising son.
Date: Sunday, July 20, 2008
Rebekah heads back to work tomorrow, so we had to update the site with some of our latest pictures so she has some kid fixes to get her through the first full day away from the little ones!
Date: Tuesday, July 15, 2008
We survived a sultry weekend in balmy, summertime Florida for our friend Johnny's wedding (congrats, John and Dani!) and took in a very hot day at SeaWorld with the kids, who traveled exceedingly well! Date: Monday, July 7, 2008
We headed out to Litchfield for the annual July 4th gathering at our friends' place on a lake in Rural Watkins (thanks again, Millers!) and Coop took in his first fireworks show with his cousins Gracie and Katherine (KK). Sam was there, too, but we just realized we didn't take many pictures of her ... Oops! Next year, I guess : ) Date: Tuesday, July 1, 2008
Cooper is starting to say his name (with a B instead of a C) and loves to combine Sam's first and middle names (dropping the S and replacing the Rs with Ws) ... here are some recent photos of the dynamic duo.
Date: Friday, June 13, 2008
We were in Litchfield a week or so ago, and Cooper discovered the joys of turtle-watching, thanks to a wayward painted turtle who got lost somewhere between the lake that’s a quarter-mile away and the Fawcett’s front door. Cooper was curious (not overly brave at first, though) and by the end of the day wanted to check on the turtle every time he walked by. Date: Friday, June 13, 2008
Let’s not forget that Cooper has a distinct personality all his own, and it continues to be on display -- in his crib, in the tub, wherever and whenever there’s an audience. Date: Friday, June 13, 2008
We swear, she doesn’t sleep all the time! This album has some shots of her dreaming away, as well as a few images of her spending time with her big brother. Date: Tuesday, May 27, 2008
Samara has been busily (or passively? Hard to say ...) making her mark on the household. Running up the diaper bill, but also keeping us smiling.
Date: Wednesday, May 7, 2008
Here are some additional shots of the kids (yikes), yes kids, Auntie Melissa and Grandma and Grandpa Fawcett.
Date: Monday, May 5, 2008
A quick post of some initial pics of our new family member. She's a keeper...unless Cooper decides he wants to throw her back...but we think we can talk him out of it. Much easier so far the second time around for Rebekah and baby. We'll update with more when we settle back home later this week. Date: Tuesday, April 22, 2008
The snow is melting, and we're getting outside -- FINALLY! Cooper has explored every inch of our yard and some of our neighbors' yards, too. Date: Monday, March 24, 2008
The second annual Fawcett family Easter weekend in the Wisconsin Dells is in the books, and after a timid start, Cooper LOVED the experience and is yearning for the days when he can ride the big boy rides -- after all, he was soooooo bored by the wave pool, he actually yawned.
Date: Sunday, March 16, 2008
Rebekah's parents came into town this weekend, so we spent some time with them at the Children's Museum (forgot the camera) and at one of the neighborhood parks enjoying a bit of sunshine. Unfortunately, Cooper also took a header into the floor at daycare last week, so he is sporting a nice face raspberry (re: floor burn) in the pictures! Date: Monday, March 10, 2008
Cooper got to spend a week in Litchfield with Grandma and Grandpa while our daycare provider was on vacation, and he spent the time chasing animals and playing on the farm. When we picked him up, we also got to visit with our friends from South Dakota (the Millers) and just relax. The past few days have been quiet, although Cooper's new dragon toy and tunnel are keeping us entertained.
Date: Saturday, February 16, 2008
Yes, this time of year we wonder why we live here. However, there is still plenty of excitement to be found indoors when there is a 16-month-old on the loose. Date: Sunday, January 20, 2008
It's too cold to do anything outside today, so we are catching up on our photo postings. It has been a busy January - from first trips out in the snow to visits from handy Grandpa Gradinjan and from exploring the house to Cooper's first Golden Gophers basketball game at the University of Minnesota (sorry - no pictures from the game. We forgot the camera in the car!).
Date: Friday, December 28, 2007
Cooper thoroughly enjoyed Christmas ... it started on Saturday with a pool full of 300 plastic balls, and just kept getting more fun from there. He loved going to Grandpa G's remote-control plane fly-in, and he couldn't get enough of Grandma Lynn's cooking. Of course, his "deep talks" with Uncle Jon were pretty fun, too.
Date: Monday, December 10, 2007
Thanksgiving took us to the Fawcetts to visit with Grandma Jan, Grandpa Cecil, Aunt Erienne and the Trom clan. Two weeks later, we packed up and headed down to sunny Orlando for a few days to soak up some sun while attending Aunt Katie's (and now-Uncle Eric's) wedding. Date: Monday, November 19, 2007
It is hard to believe more than a month has passed by since Cooper's first birthday, but people keep reminding us (we give! we give! here are some more photos ...)
Date: Sunday, October 7, 2007
Grandpa and Grandma Gradinjan and Grandpa and Grandma Fawcett came into town this weekend to wish Cooper a happy first birthday. Cooper did great with his cake, ice cream and presents, and is now nestled in his crib sleeping sweet sugar dreams. Date: Thursday, September 13, 2007
In September, we made a trip to Wisconsin for a wedding and Cooper hung out with the Gradinjans. We also got a picture of Coop in his Duke outfit. It took 30 pictures to get a shot where he didn't have his head turned or the Duke logo covered up -- Shane considers that a sign that Cooper really wants to be a North Carolina fan.
Date: Sunday, September 2, 2007
Cooper and his friend Layla visited the Minnesota Zoo today -- it was a beautiful afternoon filled with two very good babies and lots of great animals.
Date: Monday, August 27, 2007
We finally replaced the batteries in the camera and have photos to share from our recent trips to the Como Zoo (another visit!) and a friend's family's hobby farm in Montrose, Minnesota. Date: Sunday, August 5, 2007
Cooper spent a week with the Fawcetts while Shane and Rebekah traveled to Chicago for some much-appreciated alone time.
Date: Wednesday, July 25, 2007
If it's edible, throwable, or "off-limits" -- Cooper is very interested in it these days.
Date: Tuesday, July 10, 2007
Grandpa G drove to the Cities and helped us pour a lot of concrete and do a lot of household chores. Cooper was SO appreciative that he said his first official two-distinct syllable word: Bam-pa!
Date: Tuesday, July 10, 2007
The weekend after July 4th is typically reserved for Watercade -- a festival in Shane's hometown of Litchfield, Minn. Rebekah ran her fifth Watercade Lake Ripley Run (a 4-mile trek) and finished with sub-nine-minute miles. Cooper drank some of her post-race recovery water, and then we did our first Fawcett Family Fun Walk (another 4-mile jaunt around Lake Ripley) right afterward.
Date: Sunday, June 24, 2007
Grandma Lynn and Great Auntie Carol visited this week, and you will notice this is the first (and last) time Cooper will don the Packer outfit! Other pictures include Cooper's new hobbies of standing and climbing, as well as a Saturday afternoon trip to Excelsior, Minn., and Lake Minnetonka.
Date: Thursday, June 14, 2007
Hot fun in the summertime here in Minnesota. Gramma and Bumpa Fawcett came to town on Saturday and we all headed to the Como Zoo. Cooper loved the fish because they moved so quickly and was also intrigued by the Polar Bear and Giraffe. He was rather bored with anything that was sleeping or not moving, including a gorilla that just STARED at him. Date: Thursday, May 31, 2007
The sun came out, Cooper met his first bird and a couple of cats, and we enjoyed more family time during Cooper's first Memorial Day Weekend.
Date: Thursday, May 24, 2007
Cooper figured out how to crawl this week, and although it's more of a commando crawl than a hand and knee coordinated crawl, it's motion nonetheless. He's also rapidly discovered that there are a lot of things that he is NOT supposed to touch, and those are the things he is immediately going after. CD cases, the fireplace, electrical cords -- babyproofing is underway. Anyway, he started crawling Monday and decided yesterday that this new skill was just SO yesterday that he wants to stand and try to walk. The only problem is, walking doesn't work when you are constantly on your tip-toes and can't balance. More joys to follow soon, we're sure.
Date: Monday, May 14, 2007
Cooper, Rebekah and I headed to Wisconsin for a cousins wedding and a visit with the relatives for Mothers' day. Overall another successful trip with Cooper and although he was battling a cold, he was still pretty good tempered. Lots of Pictures to show you of the wedding, the Gradinjans and a visit with Rebekah's good friend Tami and her 7-month old Zachary.
Date: Thursday, May 3, 2007
Cooper is getting over a bout with hives, so he seemed to enjoy the water in the bath more than usual. We hated to take him out, but we lubed him up with some Aquaphor and got him in comfy clothes. Today, he is feeling much better and was showing off as he sat up to play with his music and lights toy.
Date: Monday, April 30, 2007
Cooper made his first official visit to the Fawcett farm this past weekend. He pet some horses (they were more curious about him, I think -- but he really did well touching them and letting them lick his ankles), watched the big fish in the koi pond, 'played' a little golf, and enjoyed other odds and ends in Litchfield on Sunday.
Date: Monday, April 16, 2007
We joined the throngs at the Metrodome Sunday to take Cooper to his first Minnesota Twins baseball game. The Twins lost 6-4 to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Cooper didn't know what to do with the crowd at first, and got a little worked up every time the crowd cheered or made a little too much noise. He calmed down when we'd 'shoosh, shoosh, shoosh' in his ear or say, 'YEEEEEEAH, Cooper!' when the crowd got loud. I ended up taking him out of the stands for a changing, a walk, a bottle and a brief nap. All-in-all, he did pretty well. He also really enjoyed his first pair of rides on the lightrail. This kid sure is seeing the world at a young age!
Date: Monday, April 16, 2007
As promised ... here are some photos from Cooper's first visit to a waterpark. He did great in the water -- trying to catch bubbles and kick, kick, kick!
Date: Sunday, April 15, 2007
We know for sure that we're in Minnesota. We're not so sure it's time to officially declare that it's spring -- but when the temperatures get above 50 degrees, it's time to get out of the house. Cooper got to try out his new windbreaker and we hit the park after a four-mile walk around Richfield and Edina.
Date: Tuesday, April 10, 2007
As we mentioned last week, our Easter weekend was spent in Wisconsin Dells with most of the Fawcett brood (Auntie Erienne had to work in Fargo, and Uncle Joe is working in Afghanistan, but everyone else was there). Cooper did very well in the waterpark and soaked in EVERYTHING (literally and figuratively). Grandma Jan has the waterpark pictures on her camera, so we'll add those later. In the meantime, enjoy the ones from the drier areas of the hotel : )
Date: Sunday, April 1, 2007
Cooper got to meet his Auntie Anna and his cousins Grace and Katherine this weekend, as the trio are in Minnesota for the week. After reading a Curious George story and feeding Cooper his bottle, Grace and Katherine headed out to Litchfield for a few days with Grandma and Grandpa Fawcett, and Anna spent a day with us before flying out to Washington DC to visit some friends. We'll all meet up again later this week before heading to the Wisconsin Dells for Easter weekend, when we'll also meet up with the Troms. It should be a lot of fun. In the meantime, here are some photos of the week that was.
Date: Sunday, March 18, 2007
Hi, folks ... our Internet is working again, so we are pleased to share some of Coop's latest photos. Cooper loves his blanket, his new hats, and Auntie E. Enjoy!
Date: Sunday, February 25, 2007
Well, Johnny Jump Up has joined our house -- it's less of a bouncing toy, though, and more of a turn-in-circles and lean WAY forward toy. He'll get used to it. Cooper seems to like being in it while I play the piano, so maybe that jumping thing will start up when I play the more energetic songs.
Date: Saturday, February 17, 2007
The personality is shining through, and his curiousity with everything around him makes for some very fun days and nights. Included in this week's photos are some of his latest discoveries -- his first Valentines Day gift, an exersaucer we keep at home and reading books. We're planning to get a Johnny Jump Up soon -- hopefully that will reduce the amount of bouncing we have to do, as that motion has now become part of our natural rhythm.
Date: Thursday, February 8, 2007
The first few days of February have been frigid in Minnesota, but we found ways to have fun indoors -- especially thanks to a new interactive gym from Auntie Katie and Cooper's favorite new pastime -- grabbing EVERYTHING in sight.
Date: Monday, January 29, 2007
Didn't leave the house much this weekend when it got so cold -- but we had plenty to keep us entertained inside. Cooper is now fighting a cold of his own, but he's still a delight, even when he's sick.
Date: Sunday, January 21, 2007
Winter has hit Minnesota, and we're seeing a lot of indoor life. Cooper keeps the days pretty full, though -- and we can't get enough of the sleeping shots!
Date: Sunday, January 14, 2007
Cooper has been so good this weekend, especially considering that Mommy and Daddy have been sick. Today, we were feeling better, so we took advantage of the time and got some cute shots.
Date: Sunday, January 7, 2007
Rebekah's parents and brother came into town for the weekend, and we took a few photos. The new booties came from one of Shane's co-workers, and they are just too cute for words!
Date: Thursday, December 28, 2006
We had a great weekend visiting the Fawcetts. Shane's sister Melissa and her family were in town with us, so we got to spend some quality time with them, too. Of course, there were memorable quotes -- as there will always be with a 4-year-old and an 18-month old. Among the more notable ones: Gavin getting paint on his head and asking, 'Am I turning blue?' and Nathan's expression upon seeing the nine-foot Christmas tree at the hobby farm, 'Wow-ee.' Enjoy!
Date: Thursday, December 21, 2006
This album is a hodge podge ... We have learned that Cooper looks bigger if you hold him like a prize fish. We also have discovered that I will take sleep whenever and wherever it can be found. Cooper's a man of many faces, too, as you will see. And thank you to Great Grandma Rain for Cooper's first Christmas present: a blanket and stuffed bear and a Duke Blue Devils outfit (trust me, he got one -- but Shane wouldn't take a picture of it!) ...
Date: Thursday, December 21, 2006
We've gone easy on the camera the last week, but here are a few shots we took as we got ready for Christmas. Cooper's first tree, his first Christmas outfit, and a shot of him in the middle of his first, unexpected roll.
Date: Tuesday, December 12, 2006
This kid gets more and more personality every day, and he loves to share it with everyone. Here are some of our favorite shots from the last week -- including pictures with Grandma Jan and a girls' night dinner for Rebekah with her grad school friends Karen and Colleen.
Date: Tuesday, December 5, 2006
We were so happy over the past week to be able to get out and see some friends that we've been missing. And we also had a visit from Jill and Perley. We are lucky to have such great friends and Cooper behaved through the attention.
Date: Tuesday, December 5, 2006
Just a few around the house shots of Cooper. It took a bit to get back into a pattern after Thanksgiving but now he's usually happy and definitely healthy.
Date: Monday, November 27, 2006
Cooper got to meet mom's family this weekend.
Date: Monday, November 27, 2006
It was a busy weekend for Cooper, who got to meet a ton of family and endure six hours (each way) in the car on the way to and from Wisconsin. The poor guy kept waking up in his car seat and would fall asleep in spite of his best efforts to remain awake. He also ate pretty well, as mom indulged in the Thanksgiving delights (but he must have not liked something because he's been spitting up more than usual lately). One holiday down, many more to go ...
Date: Sunday, November 26, 2006
Sorry, folks ... we got a little behind on updating pictures. These are shots from our dinner with the Albrights (Ryan and Shane went to school together in Litchfield), mom's six-week check-up with Cooper's 'first' doctor (Rebekah's OB) and other random photos.
Date: Friday, November 17, 2006
Cooper got to meet his Aunt Melissa and her two boys (Gavin and Nathan) this week, and we had more adventures in and out of the house. And in case you're wondering -- the onesie he's wearing in his blue suit says, 'Toothless, but ruthless.'
Date: Sunday, November 12, 2006
Cooper is getting bigger and is awake a lot more. We had a few guests this weekend, and we were able to get out of the house for a trip to the mall and to a restaurant.
Date: Sunday, November 5, 2006
Tim, Tanya, Paige and Evan came to see us on Sunday the 5th. They were so nice to bring us lunch and we had a lot of fun with their cute little ones. Paige is three and Evan is almost one and we can't imagine that Cooper will soon be that big. Thanks for coming to see us Millers!
Date: Saturday, November 4, 2006
Grandma Fawcett came to be with Rebekah while I got to head down to South Bend with my dad. It was a long drive and Rebekah and Grandma likely got more sleep then we did but with a win and a great game by our friend John Carlson, it seemed all worth it.
Date: Wednesday, November 1, 2006
We've been hoarding a few photos ... here are some more shots from the past week. As you can see, Cooper is growing up a little every day.
Date: Tuesday, October 31, 2006
The most adventure this Halloween was getting Cooper in and out of his outfits. We'll save the trick or treating until he has teeth ...
Date: Friday, October 27, 2006
Cooper's started a new game called 'power napping.' This game consists of staying awake for hours on end, sleeping for five minutes, and waking up with a screeching terror cry that would rival anything you will see on TV for Halloween's scariest movies this weekend. So, not to be outdone, I grabbed the camera when he was awake and had some fun. Enjoy!
Date: Thursday, October 26, 2006
Every once and a while, Cooper is awake (and not eating, crying or being changed) long enough for us to get a picture. Here are two pictures to prove it!
Date: Sunday, October 22, 2006
Cooper is awake a little more often these days, although most of that 'awake time' is between the hours of midnight and 6 a.m.
Date: Friday, October 20, 2006
He still sleeps most of the time, but we had a few more visitors (Adam and Beth need to come back because we forgot to take photos!) and got out of the house a couple of times with Coop.
Date: Monday, October 16, 2006
The weekend was devoted to settling into a new routine and getting used to Cooper's new surroundings.
Date: Friday, October 13, 2006
Some photos from our first evening and EARLY morning at home
Date: Friday, October 13, 2006
There will eventually be fewer photos, but we just can't help it right now!
Date: Tuesday, October 10, 2006
A good day for baby Cooper. He met lots of new friends and learned all the ins and outs of eating, pooping and sometimes sleeping...although never really at the most opportune times. He's great and if you haven't met him yet, we highly recommend it.
Date: Tuesday, October 10, 2006
Well, day one has brought about a lot of change to our little one. All are tired but Cooper is looking better and has a bunch of energy...I wish the same was true for mom and dad. He keeps us smiling and those who dropped by were all smiles too.
Date: Monday, October 9, 2006
Well, after a little over 14 hours of labor, hundreds of contractions and all the efforts of a very strong woman, Cooper has arrived! He was born at 7:02 CST and came in at a whopping 6lbs. and 12 ounces. As you probably see he came out looking like he did 10 rounds with Ali...but we love him all the same. A C-section was needed after much labor due do a face-first presentation and mom and baby are recovering well. He was 19 inches long and his head size was 14 inches. After some time in the nursery to recovery from a tough delivery, he is looking good and strong. He's a runt now, but by the way he was tearing into the pacifier the nurses gave him, he won't be a runt for long. More photos soon when his swelling goes down a bit.
Date: Friday, October 6, 2006
It's been gorgeous here, and this is the 2.8-mile lake (Lake Harriet) we walk several nights a week. It's just a couple of miles from our house.
